- Home Schooled
- A student who has completed his or her high school coursework at home,
usually taught by a parent or other individual. Home school curricula may be
similar in organization and content to traditional high school curricula, or
they may be structured to meet specific educational needs. Because of the
non-traditional approach, colleges and universities usually will place more
emphasis on standardized test scores in evaluating home schooled students
for admission.
- Honors Program
- Honors programs offer an enriched, top-quality educational experience that often includes small class size, custom-designed courses, mentoring, enriched individualized learning, hands-on research, and publishing opportunities. A handpicked faculty guides students through the program. Honors programs are a great way to attend a large school that offers enhanced social and recreational opportunities while receiving an Ivy League-like education at a reduced cost.
